Photonic Crystal Fiber Collimator

Abstract(in English) Collimation properties in large-core photonic-crystal fibers (PhCF) of multi-component glass were experimentally investigated. From the results of the far field pattern in the PhCF, the spread angle was 1 degree at wavelength of 1.55 μm. The mode field diameter (MFD) was about 50 μm by using Gaussian approximation. The coupling loss increases of transverse displacement and end separation between two collimators were 1 dB at 10 μm displacement and 1.5 dB at 1000 μm separation.
