Abstract(in English) We have fabricated a microsphere coated by a nonlinear optical thin film. The diameter of the sphere is 10μm and the thickness of the film was estimated to be about 120nm. The optical characteristics of the sphere have been experimentally and numerically observed in the Attenuated-total-reflection configuration. In the configuration, the scattering intensity spectrum of the sphere showed the resonance features due to the whispering gallery modes. The dependence of scattering intensity on the input light intensity was nonlinear at the resonance wavelength. This result suggests that the structure using micropshere may be one of the key components in order to fabricate feature nonlinear optical devices.
