Proposal of Symmetric Mach-Zehnder all optical switch router

Abstract(in English) In future OTDM photonic network nodes, routing control of ultrafast optical signal is indispensable as well as all optical regeneration (optical-3R) or optical MUX/DEMUX functions. Symmetric Mach-Zehnder (SMZ) all optical switch is one of the promising candidate for these functional solutions because of its sub-pico second switching response. We propose and make feasibility study of the novel application of SMZ optical switch to optical pulse routing in the ultrafast OTDM photonic networks.
