Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It became possible to apply a kind of semiconductor optical amplifiers as repeater such as LOA which has overcome the drawback come from nonlinearity and gain transient contrary to conventional SOA. It is already investigated that an 80Gbit/s WDM signals can be successfully amplified and transmitted by virtue of a gain-clamping by optical pumping which was adopted in LOA and could suppress a pattern effect. In this report, we expand the data to 160Gbit/s WDM signal with polarization-bit-interleaving. As a result, LOA can amplify up to 160Gbit/s successfully, and there is no obvious impairment caused by polarization-dependent-gain (PDG).
