Abstract(in English) | Feasibility of simultaneous wavelength conversion utilizing the double-pumped four-wave mixing (FWM) in optically-pumped GaN/AlN intersubband optical amplifiers (ISOA) has been studied theoretically. When the pumping powers are +7 dBm and +10 dBm, wavelength conversion efficiencies have been predicted to be -9-+6 dB depending on the frequency shift (0.3-10.9 THz). The frequency bandwidth of WDM channels which can be converted simultaneously (difference in efficiency < 3 dB) has been predicted to be about 1.8 THz. Such a wide bandwidth is due to ultrafast response of the intersubband transition in GaN. |
