Abstract(in English) | The small v-bend optical waveguide using an elliptic mirror is proposed to downsize the optical waveguide devices. The minimum size of the v-bend silica waveguide was about 0.25 mm × 1.1 mm. The loss of the v-bend silica waveguide was mainly attributed to the mirror facet tilt. In the latest fabrication, the total loss of the v-bend waveguide was decreased from 4.75 dB to 1.94 dB, by reducing the mirror facet tilt angle. The v-bend waveguide using two elliptic mirrors was newly proposed. |
