Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A reciprocating optical modulator (ROM) generates higher order harmonics in good efficeincy and in high stability. We propose two novel methods for amplitude-shift-keyed modulated radio-on-fiber (ASK-ROF) signal generation using ROM; external and internal modulation schemes. Especially, internal modulation greatly reduces driving voltage for baseband signal due to reciprocating modulation process. In this paper, 52.8-GHz ASK-ROF signal generation is demonstrated with low-voltage (2.0 V) base-band signal, where V_πwas 6.4 V. The upper limit of the internal modulation speed is also evaluated.
