Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel photonic millimeter-wave pulse generation method using optical frequency-shift-keying (OFSK) technique. The OFSK modulator, which is based on an optical single-sideband modulator consisting of four optical phase modulators, can change the output optical frequency with high-speed switching time. The pulses can be obtained as an optical beat of two spectral components, during the transient state of the frequency-shift-keying. The OFSK modulator does not affect the average power of the optical output, so that we can get a simultaneous moudulation of on-off-keying and frequency-shift-keying. In this report, we demonstrated the pulse generation using our proposed method, with some numerical and experimental results.
