Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Watt-hour meters are useful for transaction of electric power in transmission systems. So far, A watt-hour meter utilizes rotation of a disk by eddy current. This principle is simple and have high reliability. Therefore, the watt-hour meters have been used for a long time. However, it has some problems in measurement accuracy, mechanical fatigue, life time and large size. They are caused by mechanical action. On the other hand, A watt-hour meter by using optical sensor has small size and is capable of working for a long time. They have no mechanical action part in system. The watt-hour meter consists of two parts. One is the sensor part which measures electric power utilized Pockels and Faraday effects. The other is electric circuit part which converts to digital signals and add them. In this report, the principle and the experiment are described.
