Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In principle, strain and temperature distribution can be measured simultaneously utilizing the Brillouin frequency shifts caused by two different guided acoustic modes. It is analytically clarified that the accuracy in the simultaneous measurement is limited by the ratios of the strain and temperature coefficients of Brillouin frequency shift between the guided acoustic modes. It is also found that the errors accompanied with the simultaneous measurement are about 40 times larger than those in separate measurements in a practical dispersion shifted fiber.
