Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Dispersion-flattened fibers having nonlinear coefficient of more than 10 W^<-1>km^<-1> are designed and fabricated. By utilizing a fiber with an appropriate dispersion profile, it is experimentally clear that tunable wavelength conversion is realized in wide wavelength range including C-band. 10Gb/s transmission experiments show the feasibility of simultaneous optical signal processing, that is, wavelength conversion and optical packet processing. We also manufacture highly nonlinear dispersion-flattened and decreasing fibers, one of which can generate 200nm supercontinuum light with a fiber length of only 500m and the input pulses having 3ps pulse width and small peak power of 1W. |
