1.55 μm Band Supercontinuum Generation in Dispersion-Flattened Polarization-Maintaining Photonic Crystal Fiber

Abstract(in English) We describe the generation of supercontinuum of over 40 nm in the 1.55 μm region (1540 - 1580 nm) using a 200 m-long dispersion-flattened polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber. The pump light source is a 40 GHz mode-locked erbium doped fiber laser with center wavelength of 1562 nm and pulse width of 2.2 ps. The chromatic dispersion and dispersion slope of the photonic crystal fiber at 1.55 nm are -0.23 ps/km/nm and 0.01 ps/km/nm^2, respectively. The modal birefringence and nonlinear parameter are 1.3×10^<-3> and 19 W^<-1>km^<-1>, respectively.
