Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Plastic optical fibers that are a typical large core multimode optical fiber are very attractive for optical subscriber networks. The transmission characteristics of graded-index profile plastic optical fibers have been dramatically improved in the 1990's. We apply to arbitrary profile large core multimode optical fibers and demonstrate the influences of the sinusoidal fluctuations on the propagation characteristics of guided modes.
