Abstract(in English) | In the D-WDM systems, MZI type Multiplexer which has advantage of its compactness, low cost, low insertion loss, wide band compared to the AWG, has temperature dependency of center wavelength due to the temperature dependency of the refractive index of silica-based materials. So that we cannot ignore this temperature dependency when the channel spacing become narrower. In this letter, we propose a new concept for the complete passive 200GHz spaced-8channel MZI-Multipexer. It is a temperature dependency absorbing type MZI-MUX, comprising six MZIs and one Fourier filter (comprising two MZIs) having function of improvement in spectrum flatness. Therefore, this MZI-MUX keeps a low insertion loss even if the environmental temperature changes. |
