Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the conventional forward converter, a reset winding of a transformer is moved to the secondary side, and its magnetizing inductance is made small, and the anode of the freewheeling diode is connected at a different point. This derives a new topology of DC-DC converter. We call it "Mixed forward-flyback converter." This converter is predicted to have some features of voltage reduction for the main switch, size reduction and power loss reduction for the output inductor. In this paper, the basic operation of this novel converter is explained by using the extended state-space averaging method. These analytical results were experimentally confirmed. In the experiment, a high efficiency of 94.1% was achieved under the condition of input voltage of 140V and output of 18V/4A.
