User Behavior Analysis with Real Data Towards Micropayment Services

Abstract(in English) With rapid spread of various online video and audio streaming services, most of them depend on a continuous monthly payment plan. Specifically, the problem with such plans is they require users to subscribe to the service. This paper considers a model in which payment happens on a per-song basis, where it becomes important to analyze and classify user behavior to estimate the efficiency of the proposed micropayment model. Focusing on minimizing transaction cost which naturally occurs with micropayments, this paper looks into the possibility to classify users into sporadic versus continuous groups, where the latter is more convenient from the viewpoint of incurred transaction cost.
