Effects of Input Data Uncertainties on an Air Traffic Control Difficulty Index

Abstract(in English) Recent modernization of air traffic management systems promotes aviation towards trajectory based operations and performance based operations. These shifts require the performance indices such as safety, efficiency, complexity etc. The author’s et al has been developing an index for evaluating air traffic control (ATC) difficulty. This index utilizes the relative position and relative velocity vectors of aircraft pairs as input data. These data include uncertainties such as estimation errors. These effects on the estimated ATC difficulty values are of our great concerns. Therefore, sensitivity analyses on the effects were carried out using few different approaches. This paper briefly describes the method and results of the analyses.
