Abstract(in English) | We aim to realize a remote controlled vehicle system using wireless LANs. When we use a shared type wireless LAN for remote control, degradation of transmission quality due to an increase in communication traffic causes a problem. Deterioration of transmission quality affects traveling characteristics of the vehicle system that performs feedback control via a wireless LAN. In this research, focusing on transmission delay and delay variation, we firstly measured transmission quality of a wireless LAN in an office. Then, we carried out remote control experiments using running vehicle simulator. Our results clarified the influence of transmission delay and delay variations on running characteristics. This paper also shows effects of jitter buffer on running characteristics of the simulator. |
