Abstract(in English) We aimed to investigate relationships between quantitative image features and Gleason scores that are subjectively determined in clinical practice. The 54 image features were calculated based on histograms and textures such as gray-level co-occurrence, run-length, size-zone, and neighborhood gray-tone difference matrices within cancer regions in grayscale histological images of components for red, green and blue. There were statistically significant differences in feature means between high (? 4+3) and low (? 3+4) Gleason score groups (t-test, p < 0.05). Our study demonstrated a capability of quantitative image features to stratify prostate cancer histological images into high and low Gleason scores groups.
