Transmission Characteristics of Analog RF Signal in RoF System using Trans-impedance Amplifier for digital optical communication

Abstract(in English) Super high frequency band signal is attenuated by buildings etc. The radio over fiber which relayed radio signal is studied to solve the problem. In digital optical communication system, a Trans-impedance Amplifier (TIA) is often used on the receiver side. Commonly, an auto gain control is built in the TIA to control output voltage amplitude to be constant. The function is not suitable for analog signal transmission. In this study, we measured transmission characteristics of superimposed analog and digital signal in the radio over fiber system. It is revealed that the dynamic ranges of the analog RF signal of 3GHz band and 6GHz band are expanded by it.
