A Study on AP Selection and User Scheduling for Wireless LAN Employing MU-MIMO

Abstract(in English) Recently, wireless LAN plays an essential role in alleviating dramatic increase in mobile traffic. However, in dense wireless LAN environments, the throughput performance is significantly degraded due to the interference between access points (APs) and user terminals. In this report, we propose the interference-aware AP selection method for wireless LAN employing MU-MIMO. Moreover, to maximize the potential of MU-MIMO, the user scheduling considering spatial orthogonality is applied to the proposed method. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated in comparison with the traditional maximum RSSI-based AP selection method using random user scheduling by means of computer simulations.
