Abstract(in English) | Visible-light communication systems are suitable to realize secure indoor networks. In this paper, we investigate a new dimming control scheme for visible-light communication systems. Our scheme is based on a synchronous optical code-division multiplexing (CDM) system using modified prime sequence codes (MPSCs) and an equal-weight orthogonal (EWO) interference canceller. This dimming control scheme uses both of MPSC and inverted MPSC codewords as signature sequences. Dimming level is determined by the ratio of inverted MPSC codewords in a frame which consists of several CDM slots. We derive the equations by which the average brightness and the maximum flickering time period (MFTP) of the proposed scheme are described. Furthermore, we investigate the BER performance of the proposed scheme by computer simulation in which APD noise, thermal noise, and background noise are taken into account. |
