[Invited Talk] Performance improvement of large-scale silicon photonics switches

Abstract(in English) Optical switches attract much attention as the key device to significantly improve the energy efficiency of networks such as the datacenter network. We have been working on development of fast, compact, and low power consumption optical switches based on CMOS silicon photonics, and achieved milestones including fabrication of 32x32 switch, its full operation, reduction of the insertion loss and so on. In this presentation, we review our recent results on other remaining challenges of broadband and polarization-independent operations.
