A study on multicore control method considering server performance and power consumption in NFV environment

Abstract(in English) In recent years, network virtualization (NFV) technology attracts attention as a technique for reducing physical resources and improving convenience in network operation. The number of network users by NFV is expected to increase with the spread of services for each home such as vCPE. In this paper, we proposed a method to improve the processing performance and reduce the power consumption by controlling the necessary server on the CPU core basis in consideration of load fluctuation due to many VNF usage requests in the NFV environment. As a result of evaluation by simulation, we confirmed that by using the proposed method, it is possible to reduce power consumption and reduce the request rejection rate and processing time.
