| 抄録(和) | アンカリングエネルギーは配向規制力の強さを表す指標であり, 液晶の配向制御において重要なパラメータであることから, 本研究室では継続して研究を行っている. 本研究では, 工業的に用いられている光配向膜について, 安定した配向が得られるUV照射エネルギーの調査と, UV照射エネルギーに対する方位角および極角アンカリングエネルギーの測定を行った. 調査の結果, 今回用いた配向膜では0.3～2J/$cm^2$程度のUV照射をした際に安定した配向が得られた. 方位角アンカリングエネルギーはどのUV照射エネルギーにおいても$10^-4$J/$m^2$程度の値が得られた. 極角アンカリングエネルギーは, リバースチルトの発現によって正確な測定ができなかった. |
| 抄録(英) | The surface anchoring energy is an index representing the strength of the alignment restoring force. Hence it is an important parameter for the liquid crystal displays (LCDs), we are studying on establishing the measurement techniques. In this study, the dependence of surface azimuthal / polar anchoring energy on UV irradiation dosage which gives proper surface alignment of liquid crystal (LC) molecules was investigated. As a result of a polyimide for planar alignment, stable alignment state was confirmed with UV irradiation of 0.3 to 2J/$cm^2$. The azimuthal anchoring energy was about $10^-4$J/$m^2$ at a certain UV irradiation energy. The polar anchoring energy was not accurately measured due to the reverse tilt. |
