Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Digital picture books that improve children’s interest are often used to help children get into the reading habits. We have developed a digital picture book with the AR (Augmented Reality) technology. We call the book as the AR pop-up picture book (AR book). The AR technology is used for appearing a digital picture book in an augmented reality space. A creator of an AR book is required to give effects such as motion to characters or objects appeared in the book. The creators have difficulty in programming the effects in the AR space. We propose a new intuitive method to build and edit the effects without programming by teaching the motion. We show how the method can be effectively used to make AR books.
