Low temperature liquid phase growth and terahertz optical properties of 2D layered semiconductor InSe crystal

Abstract(in English) High quality InSe crystals have been successfully grown by temperature difference method under controlled vapor pressure (TDM-CVP), a low temperature solution crystal growth approach allowing controllable selenium vapor pressure. The optical properties in terahertz range were investigated using terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) and terahertz generated via different frequency generation (DFG) process. It is shown that the absorption of in terahertz range of InSe is far smaller than that of GaSe. The Hall effect test was carried out and confirmed the favorable crystallinity of InSe crystal and the credibility of terahertz optical measurements. This study revealed the potential of InSe to be applied as nonlinear optical crystal in THz range.
