Abstract(in English) | A specific absorption rate (SAR) is used for an assessment of a human exposure from wireless communication devices. Current conformity assessment procedure, which is called as full SAR measurement, evaluates the SARs in all available frequency bands and device conditions. However, it takes a lot of times to measure the SARs with the full SAR measurement. Thus, IEC62209-1 provides a fast SAR measurement procedure to reduce a measurement time. In this study, we evaluate peak spatial SARs of four mobile phones with fast SAR measurement procedure. From these results, the maximum relative deviation compared with the full SAR measurement results was observed 16.0%, which is in range of the expanded measurement uncertainty of 17.8% in this measurement. In addition, the time reduction accomplished more than 25% comparing the time of the full SAR measurement. Moreover, considering the realistic measurement environment, i.e., the setting position of the mobile phone, the time reduction was only 5% degradation compared to before consideration the realistic environment. These results confirm the effectiveness of the fast SAR measurement procedure in realistic measurement environment. |
