Indirect Measurement Method for S-parameters of Reciprocal Circuits with Measuring a Minor Number of Ports

Abstract(in English) A measurement method for the S-parameters of multiport reciprocal circuits is reported where majority of their ports are connected with some known loads and the remaining minority ports are directly measured by changing the load values to estimate the whole S-matrix. Some of the ports to connect the known loads (indirect-measured ports) are terminated with matched loads to eliminate them and make the number of indirect-measured equal to that of direct-measured. Then, our already proposed method is applied to estimate the partial S-matrix. By repeating this process with changing the terminated ports, the whole S-matrix is estimated straight forwardly. A numerical experiment with a simple PCB is shown to evaluate the validity and the robustness of this method.
