Micromagnetic analysis of MAMR recording head

Abstract(in English) Micromagnetic model simulations were performed considering a spin-torque oscillator (STO), write head and double-layered recording medium. To reduce the calculation time, we used a simplified model consisting of a STO, recording layer (RL) and soft magnetic underlayer (SUL) and investigated the magnetostatic interactions between the STO and RL. It was found that the STO oscillation frequency was lowered due to the field from the RL, but the oscillation amplitude did not change. We used a second model consisting of a STO, write head, RL and SUL to investigate the effect of the RL on the main pole ? trailing shield (MP-TS) gap field. It was found that the STO oscillation frequency was lowered due to the field from the RL, and the field from RL was large when the RL magnetization switched. Finally, using a third model, we found that increasing the injected current to an STO in a tilted, parallel main pole - trailing shield gap stabilized its rotation, although the conditions were still not ideal.
