[Invited Talk] Recent Progress on 53-Gbaud EA/DFB and DFB Lasers for 400GbE Applications

Abstract(in English) High speed lasers of both Electro-Absorption modulator integrated DFB (EA/DFB) lasers and directly modulated DFB lasers have been developed for 400GbE applications. An uncooled 1.3-μm EA/DFB laser was demonstrated for 53-Gbaud PAM4 operation with a 0.9 Vpp from 20 to 85°C. As for activities of DFB lasers, 53.2 Gb/s NRZ operation was achieved over a wide temperature range (WTR) of 20 to 80?C. Moreover, clear eye-openings were obtained for 53-Gbaud PAM4 (106-Gb/s) operation from 25 to 80?C and eye openings were confirmed after a 10-km SMF by using 1.3-μm InGaAlAs-MQW DFB lasers.
