Getting on and off State Confirmation System Corresponding to In-vehicle Safety for Automated Driving Last-Mile Mobility

Abstract(in English) Currently, in Japan, new transportation systems using automatic driving techniques are expected to secure transportation means of elderly depopulated areas, eliminate driver shortage, cost reduction and the like. For mobile services using automatic driving vehicles, it is necessary to check passengers getting on and off and judge departure, and automation is required. Therefore, in this research, we propose a system that automatically detects passengers getting on and off, by processing in-vehicle camera images using OpenPose which is a human body part detection library. As a result of the evaluation experiment of the proposed algorithm, it was shown that it is possible to judge sufficiently for getting on and off with respect to a single person.
