Numerical design of metal-clad cavity device coupled to InP waveguide for on-chip optical interconnect

Abstract(in English) We propose a horn-shaped metal-clad cavity which is integrated with an InP waveguide. The simulation by finite difference time-domain (FDTD) method shows that the slope of the cladding has a significant influence on the Q factor as well as transmission. The maximum Q factor of 408 and extinction ratio of 3.9 dB are obtained from 3D FDTD simulation at a slope angle of 15°.
