Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Break arcs are generated in a 48VDC/50-200A resistive circuit and blown-out by transverse magnetic field. The magnetic flux density Bx are changed to 5mT, 20mT, 40mT and 80mT. The length of break arcs just before arc extinction L are analyzed. Following results are shown. The L can be measured by the appropriate exposure settings and the analysis method. The L tends to become shorter as the Bx increase. When the magnetic flux density is increased from 5mT to 20mT, the L sharply decreases. The dispersion of the L tends to be relatively small when the Bx is 5mT and is large when the Bx is 20mT, 40mT and 80mT.
