Chemical and optical reduction characteristics of Eu doped phosphate phosphor materials

Abstract(in English) Eu doped phosphate phosphor has characteristics which change light emission colors by valence. Since it is usually trivalent and stabilized in oxide compounds, heat treatment at high temperature (1000 ℃) under reducing atmosphere (H2 + N2) was required to obtain divalent light emission. On the other hand, we found that optical reduction using laser was carried out. Moreover, In the optical reduction, dependence on the wavelength of laser used was observed, and it was found that there is a difference of reduction effect obtained by the phosphate of host materials. Therefore, in order to clearly understand the mechanism of these reduction processes, the reduction process of Eu doped phosphate phosphor was examined in terms of optical feature, and was discussed thoroughly.
