Validity Evaluation of Electrogastrography Generated with a Mathematical Model and Extraction Accuracy Evaluation of Gastric Electrical Activity Using Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition

Abstract(in English) Our final goal is to develop an Electrogastrogram (EGG) signal extraction method aimed at evaluating autonomic nervous activity by evaluation of EGG signal. In this report, a numerical result obtained by adding a periodic signal and white Gaussian noise to the gastric electrical signal mathematical model generated by Sarna et al., and its validity as an EGG mathematical model was evaluated from its quantitative and qualitative evaluation. In addition, we applied ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) to the numerical result of the EGG mathematical model as the preliminary stage of evaluating the extraction performance of the gastric electrical signal by EEMD from the abdominal biomedical signal measured with EGG, the accuracy of extraction of gastric electrical signal components of EEMD was evaluated. From the results, it was suggested that the numerical result generated by the model can be used as a signal simulating the measurement signal, and that the EEMD is a method enabling the extraction of the gastric electrical signal component with higher precision than the empirical mode decomposition (EMD).
