Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, connected cars are having a major role on modern traffic system. However, it might include vulnerability and increase importance of evaluating safety for electromagnetic disturbance to Controller Area Network (CAN) system. Actually, incorrect responses of CAN nodes can be detected in immunity tests for a CAN system. Therefore, countermeasures against the problem are required, and to identify causes of the incorrect responses is necessary. However, a fine control of the level and timing of the disturbance is difficult with a regulated immunity test equipment, since the test provides an excessive disturbance. The authors constructed a simple measurement system which consists of a current injection probe and a cheap waveform generator. The system can be applied for investigating the causes for the incorrect responses accurately by injecting disturbances in an arbitrary timing, without any hardware modifications. In addition, the measurement system was applied to a CAN system which consists of two nodes and observed the responses of transceivers and controllers with changing the level and injection timing of the disturbances. As a result, responses to the disturbances injected by the measurement system mostly followed the CAN protocol, which confirmed that the proposed system is applicable in observing behavior of CAN system responding to electromagnetic disturbance.
