Design and development of medium gain cross multibeam antenna suitable for future mobile communication system

Abstract(in English) We proposed a medium gain cross beam antenna (CBA) as a small base station antenna applied to the future mobile communication system, reported its design development and prototype study. Cross beam antenna assumed to be installed at intersection (signal) pole was designed and fabricated with ground element 8 element Yagi antenna, realized approximately 8 dB gain / tilt angle 30 °. Also, we simulated ground field strength and clarified the feasibility of the cell configuration. The design points of these characteristics are also shown, and adjustments can be made according to antenna installation conditions. The proposed CBA combines RF beam and MIMO to achieve ultra high speed transmission with cars and high speed transmission with mobile terminals in the city. Moreover, by effectively using the traffic infrastructure, it can be installed regularly and easily, and it becomes a more practical base station antenna. In the future, it is important to design a frequency / method commonly.
