Abstract(in English) | A High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) has been expected as a new mobile communication platform that realizes ultra-wide coverage area, disaster-resistant networks, and offers radio communication networks which is aimed at three dimensional area including the upper sky where drones fly. Since a HAPS covers ultra-wide coverage area and large traffic, it is necessary that it must configure multi-cell. And it flies around the sky at a constant radius to maintain its service area, so we have to take its motion for granted. Therefore, it is important to study a low-side lobe multi-beam antenna that performs beam control corresponding to the motion of a HAPS and reduces interference between multiple cells. In this paper, we suggest a basic study of horizontal beam pattern characteristics in a HAPS assuming a circular array antenna as a service link antenna for a HAPS, which is excellent in rotational symmetry in the horizontal plane and easy to perform beam forming. Concretely, we clarify the relationship between the antenna gain, the beam width and the side lobe level, and consider the antenna parameters that can realize the low side lobe while maintaining the desired beam width and antenna gain. |
