A Study on Measurement of Microwave Absorber by Free Space Method

Abstract(in English) A Free Space Method is one of measurement method for analyzing properties of reflection, transmission and absorption. The Free Space Method has some advantages. For example it is not required to process accurately as the waveguide method and the resonance method. In this study, we carried out a basic study using such the free space system which is a pair of dielectric lens antenna. At first we perform TRL (Through-Reflection-Line) calibration, we measured properties of reflection and transmission of a fused quartz in $75$ -- $110 unit{GHz}$. As a result, we confirmed that properties of reflection and transmission by the measurement and the result of electromagnetic field simulation which is based on a literature are good agreement. Moreover, we also measured the absorption property of some microwave absorbers using the measurement system.
