Trial manufacture of V-band vector-sum phase shift mixer

Abstract(in English) V-band vector-sum phase shift mixer is developed. The vector-sum phase shift mixer is composed of VGAs (Variable Gain Amplifier) at IF input, a quadrature mixer and a PPF (Poly Phase Filter) at LO input. In the conventional phase shifter, the required relative band width of the PPF has to be wide in the case of low IF. In the proposed configuration, that of the PPF used in the LO input is not so wide and can be easily realized. A V-band 5bit vector-sum phase shift mixer with the proposed configuration was developed with SiGe 0.18um process. As the measurement results, the developed vector-sum phase shift mixer achieved 70MHz~1GHz wide IF band, 5.5 deg.rms phase error and 0.42 dBrms gain error. It is confirmed that wideband phase shift can be realized by the proposed configuration.
