Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Japan has the higher proportion of the elderly than any other country in the world. Even though the aged population is increasing, the nursing homes are not sufficient and the caregiver for them is not enough. To cope with such situation, activity recognition and fall detection systems have been proposed, which use technologies such as cameras or wearable sensors. The proposing system reduces their uncomfortable feeling by avoiding attaching sensors on the human bodies. The system used an RFID tag with a sensing capability to recognize their behaviors. RFID tags attached to a pair of room shoes in order to monitor their motions and detect their accidents simultaneously. The system monitors the basic daily life activities (walking, standing, and falling). This paper presents a method of data collection and feature extraction by using some machine learning techniques. |
