Numerical Calculation of the Periodic Waveguide by Thick Conductor Irises Using the FDTD method

Abstract(in English) In the past, we obtained the k - β diagram applying FDTD method by Floquet’s theorem at the periodic structure and the computed periodic structure waveguide with thick iris. And, we compared the result above with the result by a general FDTD method. In addition, we considered the particular case of one conductor iris thick enough, and compared the Modified Residue-Calculus Method with FDTD method. Our results indicated that sufficient accuracy was obtained only for grid spacings on the order of λg/100 or less, considerably finer than the grid spacings of 1/20 ? 1/30 of a wavelength used in typical FDTD calculations. In this paper, we will apply these results to the modeling of periodically-structured waveguides.
