The second order approximation of pi/N expansion for the fundamental mode of a regular polygon core fiber

Abstract(in English) We derive an eigen-function and its effective index of the fundamental mode for a regular polygonal core-fiber in the second order approximation of $pi/N$. We also numerically derive effective indexes of that for hexagonal and octagonal core-fibers and compare them with the results of the second order approximation and numerical calculation. We compere the distributions of the fundamental modes calculated by the second order approximation and numerical calculations.
