Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to examine and discuss the method for rapid eye movement (REM) sleep by means of pulse rate variation (PRV) and Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) in eight young male subjects. As a result, from PRV showed a concordance of 58.1 ± 13.4% and KLD showed a concordance of 80.1 ± 10.4%. Our results show that the KLD-based REM sleep estimation has the ability to detect REM sleep briefly.
