[Poster Presentation] Wireless Powered Communications with Multiple Relay Terminals over Rician Fading Channel

Abstract(in English) In wireless sensor network (WSN), wireless devices have limitations of the battery capacity due to restrictions on size. On the other hand, long-term operation is highly desired in those these wireless devices. In this presentation, performance of wireless powered relay transmission with multiple relay stations having RF energy harvesting (RF-EH) capability is analyzed and evaluated. Detect-and-forward (DetF) transmission is considered as a relay transmission model. Each relay terminal is controlled by receiving station (base station: BS). BS collects the information of residual quantity of battery in each relay terminal, and decides its operation either relaying or RF-EH by comparison of residual energy of battery. Link budget analysis for data transmission is provided under Rician fading channel model. Also, energy budget analysis for residual quantity of battery at each relay station is analyzed for wireless powered relay communications. Numerical results show that the outage probability of relay transmission is superior by using multiple relay terminals. Standby period for RF-EH required to accomplish a certain outage probability becomes much less by using multiple relay terminals.
