[Poster Presentation] An impact of time jitter toward IoT network

Abstract(in English) With the development of IoT (Internet of Things) technology, a lot of IoT devices need a stable communication with a base station because an IoT base station of LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) has wide communication range. However, when the IoT devices periodically transmit signals to the base station, communication interval jitter occurs due to the limited clock accuracy of each IoT device. The time jitter continuously causes packet collisions among plural IoT devices. In this study, computer simulation shows the collision impact caused by the interval jitter of IoT devices in a LoRaWAN system. In addition, in order to reduce the number of collision, this work proposes a method revising the communication interval of each device by observing each device’s transmission pattern.
