Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the researches on platooning have received lots of attention due to its potential to improve the fuel efficiency and driving experience. To realize platooning safety, high reliable and frequent communications are required. In high vehicle density situation, however, it is extremely challenging to guarantee the platoon safety due to the frequent packet loss caused by high traffic volume. In this paper, we propose a practical adaptive beaconing control scheme by estimating the number of surrounding vehicles. We verify the performance of the proposal on a harsh braking scenario by extensive simulation results.
