Comparison about Performance of Microwave Imaging Methods for the Target Behind Random Media

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we simulated the imaging performance of three imaging methods (SAR, TR and TR-MUSIC) in various scenarios, and evaluated the imaging qualities comprehensively. Specifically, we use the circular complex Gaussian approximation assumption to describe the propagation of electromagnetic waves in random medium, and combine the imaging methods of TR, TR-MUSIC and SAR with this assumption, to finally obtain numerical simulation results. For imaging results, we will use the 3 dB beamwidth of two direction and deviation of the target location for quantitative evaluation. The imaging effects of the three methods are degraded as the influence of random media increases, but TR-MUSIC could can maintain good resolution and locating accuracy for most cases. The results show that the effect of the optical scattering thickness is the main reason that cause degradation of imaging results. In addition to this, considering the requirement of MIMO systems, the cases of imaging under a sparse array are also discussed. TR and TR-MUSIC could suppress grating lobes better than SAR. Generally speaking, TR-MUSIC performs best among the three imaging methods. Finally, we prospected for future work.
