Abstract(in English) | Automatic operating system for vehicle, such as advanced driver assistance system, has been intensively studied recently. Especially, Millimeter wave (mmWave) automotive radar can observe long distance even in bad weather condition, so that it has been attracting attentions. Although the performance of the array antenna can be improved by large aperture array, but it is often difficult to mount on a vehicle due to space limitation. The authors have proposed mmWave SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) processing for vehicle. SAR processing can generate the high-resolution 2-D images even with a small antenna. In observing by mmWave automotive SAR, ambiguity caused by grating lobes have appeared depending on the speed of the vehicle and PRI (Pulse Reputation Interval) of the radar in oberving region. To overcome the problem, we propose to adopt a SIMO (Single Input Multiple Output) system for the mmWave automotive SAR. By changing the radar's directivity, the appearance of grating lobes alters. In this papar, we show by computer simulation that ambiguity suppression by grating lobe. The simulation results show that SIMO radar can discriminate actual target clearly even in appearing ambiguity by grating robes in comparison with the SISO (Single Input Single Output) mmWave automotive SAR. |
